How do you do classic style paired with modern amenities in a prime location? You do the ICON. It is in a retrofitted bank building and while it is right downtown we heard zero noise overnight. The bar has signature drinks. They have a prompt valet and the rooms are well appointed.

Julia from housekeeping at Hotel ICON is truly top-tier—easily among the best I’ve encountered. Her work was meticulous, consistent, and clearly done with pride. The room was spotless, well-organized, and thoughtfully cared for every single day.

What really sets Julia apart is her professionalism and attention to detail. She went above and beyond what’s expected in housekeeping, and it showed. It’s clear she takes her role seriously and genuinely cares about the guest experience.

What an amazing place to stay located right in the heart of downtown Houston. Staff were amazing and very accommodating. Valet service members were exceptionally professional and courteous. Definitely will be back. Beautiful architectural landmark. Once and old bank over 100 year old legendary iconic building. We were able to check in early and check out late. Best place we’ve ever stayed !!!

I went the weekend of Halloween and the hotel had cobwebs, blood spatter and handprints, and a skeleton at the front desk! Lots of fun – straight out of American Horror Story! The hotel was true to its name – a vintage look, and a great bar at the center of the hotel. The bartender was very friendly and made some really good drinks. They had a complimentary shuttle to the conference I went to. The room was great with a HUGE bathroom that had a shower AND a bath. The customer service here was exemplary. I will definitely come back here.

It was our first time staying at this beautifully restored hotel that used to be a historic bank, and what a gorgeous place. The décor was already set up for the holidays and looked absolutely stunning!

We decided to have dinner at the bar, even though the restaurant had plenty of space. The service was friendly, sharing the stories of ghosts haunting the place. The best part was the food – super impressive. We shared a margarita pizza to start, then had the Thai salad with shrimp and the Greek salad with steak. Everything was full of flavor, but the real standout was the dressing: garlicky, bright, and unforgettable.

Hands-down this was an exceptional experience. When we are back on Houston – we will stay there again.
